Security, confidentiality, and GDPR for existing clients

In order to be satisfied we are speaking with the client, litigation friend or nominated person, when contacting our office you will be asked to confirm three pieces of identifiable information, i.e. three of the following; name; address; postcode; date of birth. You will also be asked for your file reference which is quoted on all correspondence from us.

We have an obligation to keep your data safe and not divulge it to someone who we shouldn’t, in line with the principle of ‘integrity and confidentiality’ in Article 5 of GDPR. That principle requires that personal data is only used “in a manner that ensures appropriate security of the personal data, including protection against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage, using appropriate technical or organisational measures.

Good to know if you are a new claimant

When contacting us regarding a new claim enquiry, the more information and evidence you can provide, the better guidance we can offer. Here is a list of things that are useful to have before you contact us.

However, if you don’t have access to these materials, don’t worry. When you call us, we can provide advice and assistance on how to obtain these and suggest our next steps.

  1. A brief summary of the incident.
  2. Any photographs depicting the accident scene and its cause.
  3. Video footage of the incident, whether from CCTV or a dashcam.
  4. Medical records if you sought treatment at a GP surgery, walk-in centre, or hospital.
  5. Contact details of any witnesses to the incident.
