Legal Assistant – Actions Against the Police

Support fee earning staff and ensure a seamless quality of service for clients within the Actions Against the Police Department.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • To obtain documentation from client’s to ensure sufficient information to draft a letter of claim.
  • Drafting of letters of claim
  • Obtaining Expert Evidence
  • Drafting of statements / pleadings.
  • To be able to understand and review particulars of claim, defences and subsequent proceedings to draft a detailed statement
  • Prepare answers to routine questions.
  • Set up and maintain electronic filing systems for records, correspondence, and other material.
  • Conduct searches to find needed information, using such sources as the Internet.
  • Learn to operate new office technologies as they are developed and implemented.
  • Manage projects, and contribute to committee and team work.
  • Operate email systems

Client Relations:

  • Provide high quality point of contact for all clients
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with all clients and other professionals

  • To work & behave in a professional manner to the highest standards of the profession
  • Comply with the policies & procedures in the office manual
  • Carry out all duties with integrity and to the best of your ability
  • Treat all information about the firm and its clients as confidential

Person Specification:

  • Law Graduate and either completed the SQE/LPC or due to commence the SQE
  • Good typing skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Good organisational skills
  • A team worker

Job Type:

  • Permanent/Full-time

Pay:

  • £27,000.00 per year.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Liverpool, Merseyside: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required).
